8 Natural Cleaning Brands For A Healthy Home

While the foods we put into our bodies have a major impact on our overall health, there are other factors that can affect how we feel. And one of those is environmental toxins.

Every person has what’s called an overall toxic load. It refers to how many man-made chemicals your body has accumulated either from ingested food or the surrounding environment. Toxins — especially those with endocrine-disrupting chemicals—can mess with hormone function and place additional toxin loads on the liver and stress on the body.

Unfortunately, we can’t magically transform our world overnight to be toxin-free. But there are some things we can do to lower our overall toxic load and exposure to endocrine-disrupting chemicals, like switching to natural home cleaning products.

If you’re looking for some greener products to keep your house neat and tidy, read on to discover my eight favorite natural cleaning brands.

Branch Basics

This line uses a plant and mineral-based solution that can safely replace everything from your all-purpose cleaner, to your bathroom and mirror cleaning sprays. One thing I love about this brand is that you can use one bottle of the concentrate solution to make laundry detergent, soap, foaming wash, and more.

Dr. Bronners

Another all-in-one solution, this line of pure-castile soap, uses a mild formula to make not only environmentally friendly soap but hair, skin, and hygiene products too. Plus, they have a great biodegradable cleaner that works on dishes, floors, laundry, and more.

Molly’s Suds

Toss the Tide Pods and make way for a laundry detergent line that’s safer for sensitive skin. On their website, you can find natural laundry powder, bleach alternatives, stain removers, and all-purpose cleaning solutions.

Honest

Actress Jessia Alba’s natural brand might have started as a source for more natural baby products, but it’s since grown to include hygiene, clothing, and cleaning products. Honest has multi-surface, glass and bathroom cleaners that come in refillable kits.

Puracy

This line features a variety of plant-based, biodegradable cleaners that are both gentle on the body and powerful enough to clean most messes. Their multi-surface cleaner comes in yummy scents like green tea and lime, organic lemongrass, fresh citrus, and cucumber, and mint.

Beekman 1802 Happy Place

This brand may be known for its goat milk skincare products, but they also have an awesome botanical-infused cleaning line. They have everything from odor eliminators to wrinkle release to washing machine cleaner available.

Bon Ami

This natural powder cleaner has been using the same simple-ingredient formula since 1886 to tackle dirty sinks, tile floors, countertops, and more. Using mild mineral abrasives reduces the toxins in your home and reduces the possibility of scratched surfaces.

Check out Bon Ami here.

Planet

With a name like Planet, you know this line has the environment in mind when creating cleaning products. This brand’s dishwashing liquid, laundry detergent, and spray cleaner are biodegradable and free from any added dyes, fragrances, or synthetic preservatives.

Check out Planet here.

The Laundress

Despite the name, The Laundress actually features a wide variety of natural cleaning products that you can search for by task. However, this brand is best known for its fabric care line that includes a bleach alternative, stain solutions and more.

Check out The Laundress here.

The great thing about all of these brands is that they list out all of their ingredients on their site, unlike many traditional cleaning products. The not-so-great thing is that it takes tons of research and internet deep diving to learn which ingredients are toxic. Thankfully, there are some great sources out there to help you decode labels and make the best choice for your home:
